a correction...

Alas, I was wrong, the local rag had not ignored my letter, it was in yesterday's paper.  Quite why it takes a five day turn around to print an e-mail regarding an issue that was only ever going to be news for a day or two is beyond me, but mine not to reason why.  They even edited the "Sir, I am writing to you with regards to your front page story today" to reflect their inability to publish promptly.  Nice, very nice, make it look like I was slow to write it.

Being as I had blogged about said rag last week, and complained that they did not publish, I must now set the record straight.  It's still a total rag, just one that published my letter.  (foxinthesnow and awesomelies may want to look away now, should they be reading)

Anyway, like any true blogger would, I scanned it for internet show and tell.  My next letter writing target should perhaps be The Economist.  I think I may need to up my game somewhat...

Maybe they published it because they had nothing else to write. At least you got in the paper !!

This is highly probable, Boso, it's a slow news century in this old town...

well they do have a statue of cromwell and he was hardly the most beloved and charming of leaders. I just hope no public money at all was spent in creating the statue.
I wonder if the statue rotates on its pedestal, or is it not for turning?
Is she doing the jedi mind trick?

I'm sorry, but if they put that statue up, I'd like to knock her head off please.
Then you can erm, write a letter about that? ;-)
OH MY GOD, THE CODE IS laBIa. LABIA!

Pete, ach, Cromwell *spits three times* Treachorous coward! King murdering fiend! Christmas stealing monster! I have no idea if the statue is for turning, but I like Madge, so think she deserves it, she made mistakes but I think she's the best PM since the war. (Yes, I know that can get your crucified if you say it too loud!)

Chintzy, that statue is up, and there would of course be a letter! :P And yes, you sent me a labia screengrab hehe

I am not sure that a PM has stood out as much since Churchill !
(Blair will have a reputation, but all the grumblers from the 80s are probably wishing they hadn't complained about her so much in comparison.)

Arty, I agree, she entirely dominates post wwii politics, it's a shame she can no longer do public speaking.
